Deism was a common belief; deists believed that the world was like a clock, God winds it and it works on its own. Deists did not like monarchy because they did not believe in divine right, puritans did not believe in the monarchy because it was created by Anglicans and Catholics. Puritans believed that people were predestined to go either to heaven or hell. Deists believed that whether a person goes to heaven or hell depends on the person's actions. The Anglican church or the Church of England was founded by King Henry VIII in 1531.
