What if I wanted to quote something the author had said concerning his work in my literary analysis? And in the middle of a sentence? How do I make this work?
The book was not meant to be a foretelling of the future, but rather a warning to mankind that “Totalitarianism, if not fought against, could triumph anywhere." (George Orwell)

In the 12/28 answer there are two errors (if this is in MLA format): the T in totalitarianism should be lower case in brackets and the period at the end of the quotation should be after the parenthetical citation.
but rather a warning to mankind that "[t]otalitarianism, if not fought against, could triumph anywhere" (Orwell). There should be a page number unless you got this from the Internet.
